March 3, 2019 – I have two overwhelming thoughts right now. One, my hands are stuck. Seriously, it’s super hard to type after using an air hammer for five hours, all after cutting up the rest of that tree to put it into the trash cans. Second, I’m super sad because I can’t watch my wrestling girls on Total Bellas. Both deserve a why.
The first one – the air hammer; I’m taking the remnants of flagstone off the cinder-block portion of my house, prep-work in advance of paint. I took most of it off many years ago, and that was because it only covered about 50 percent of the cinder-block. But now I’m finishing what I did then, and it’s tedious, and not very fun. Eventually, in the latter part of this month, the house is going to be Behr Antique Earth, a mild brown over this natural colored cinder block.
The second one – the lack of Total Bellas; my satellite TV is out. At first, I blamed the rain for blocking the signal (even though that never happens to me), and spent Saturday after horse riding watching a show on Amazon, you know, four out of the eight episodes. This morning, with the sky only partly cloudy, I rebooted, but still got that message – receiver not communicating with the satellite. Later I asked my brother about it. He told me to check the dish and the cables. From that investigation, I think it’s the cable leading from the wall to the TV. Why? Because the cable is frayed and has light grey fuzzy bunny fur all over it. Oh and it’s not the first time the bunny was the culprit of some out-of-order electronic device around here.
So, if I had my way, right now, I would be watching my TV … nursing my very sore right hand. But I’m doing my best to write something of a story. Even though all I can think about is my weekend TV….
That kinda reminds me of being a kid. You know? Weekend TV? It was cartoons in those days, although I’m pretty sure I would have loved Total Bellas even as a girl. I’m weird like that. My girlie then? Cher. I loved the Sonny and Cher show. Those were some crazy outfits she had. Pretty much like t-shirts that say Fearless, or Brie Mode, and no I don’t think I’ll actually have y’all watching Total Bellas, but those are the Bella twins’ costumes. But cartoons? Cartoons are universal. I’m pretty certain all of you watched them.
What does any of this, cartoons especially, have to do with rock music? Well I’m glad you asked because Axl Rose has the answer. His first song in something like 10 years is out, and it’s for a cartoon. Actually, I’m a bit late on this one; the song has been out since January, and honestly, I haven’t heard it on the radio, but I really think it’s cute. Axl Rose and Bugs Bunny; somehow it works. Then again, you can pair Axl Rose with pretty much anything these days, so why not a bunny? Hey, speaking of bunnies….I know a bunny who has a thing for TV cables. Perhaps my bunny doesn’t like Total Bellas. Perhaps I need to play the Axl-Looney Tunes show for her. Well, after I get us a new co-axial cable that is.
