August 18, 2019 – It’s a good day when Robert Plant writes my story. It appears Robert Plant, Led Zeppelin even, is now, in 2017, the proper subject for a Dan Rather interview. If you had told me that when I was a kid, I would have said no way. And no, that’s not a typo; the upload of this interview is today, but the record the interview was promoting was from 2017.

a masterpiece, the best interview of Robert, the best interview of a rock legend ever … because it’s an interview of a man and that man’s reality, a reality that somehow makes his life just like our own.

I suppose the one thing I will say about my own reaction is that it’s really nice to take out of this a concept of comfort for the changing times of reality. And I love his discussions of things about family, his parents, the legends before him, and especially his reaction of what people think of him and even Led Zeppelin. Oh, and then there’s this: Kashmir is my favorite too. And All My Love is and always has been my good luck charm, my personal present of hope.
