Prayers for Brave Mr. Zelenskyy

February 26, 2022 – They say one person, alone, can’t make a difference. They say his execution, likely public, is inevitable. We didn’t have media in 1776, but this other man defied the odds, this one man stepped up to the call to lead. We are all who we are because of him.

So while our own President is in Delaware taking the weekend off, my thoughts, prayers and tears are with the bravest man of the modern era. There are charities that are working to send ammunition. That’s what President Zelenskyy wants. I would like to think that the bullets I’m going to pay for will go straight to him.

Godspeed, Mr. Zelenskyy. Godspeed, to all the parliament members who have taken up arms. Godspeed, to all the brave citizens on the front lines. Godspeed, to the Ukrainian military. Godspeed, to the woman who handed sunflower seeds to a Russian soldier so the seeds will produce flowers in the dirt of his remains (her words, not mine). And, as the woman I saw on the news who was about my age and who was holding a weapon looking out her apartment window said, Long Live Ukraine.

And to Mr. Zelenskyy, you never know; that underdog on the horse, above, prevailed. I believe… I believe that you, one person, will make a difference. Prayers for you, brother. Now to get those bullets to you.

Here’s a good article saying it better than I did, and credit to both the Altantic and to NBC for my fair use items here.
