Most of us acknowledge that country music has an affinity for the guitar lately. It’s rock … with a twang. Now, they are taking it up a notch, or at least country artist Justin Moore is. His latest song is his only slightly countrified cover of Motley Crue’s Home Sweet Home. The song features Vince Neil, and the video includes a load of Motley Crue concert footage. I heard the song on the radio, and I thought I had pressed the button for the setting for one of my rock stations, well except that my rock stations stay firmly in their classic format or their alternative format, and this was a classic song, redone, so not like what is considered for those station’s play lists. Like it or hate it, trash it or praise it for being a cover, whichever, there is no doubt that country is rockin’ out, quite literally! And I don’t mean rockin’ out with those hard core sounds we normally get. Who knew that our new rockers would trade their spandex and sky-high platforms for cowboy hats and Ropers! First country rocks. Then country covers rock. What’s next? Country becomes rock? Where ever it comes from, I say bring it! Now where did I put those Ropers?
